It was certainly a case of "like father like son" as Trinity Juniors won their way through to the Southend Junior League cup finals for the first time in 10 years.
For scorer of both their goals in a 2-0 win over Outwood Common Youth was Collins Iorfa, son of former Southend United favourite Dominic.
In the final at Roots Hall on May 23 Trinity will take on Shoebury Boys, beaten finalists last year, who overcame current holders Ekco Whitecaps 2-0 with goals from Groom and Farmer.
Whitecaps, however, will be contesting the under-15 final. They beat Vange United 3-1 in the semis, Frost scoring twice, and will now meet Leigh Ramblers, who overcame Hullbridge Sports 3-0.
It will be an all-Southend League final in the Under-12 East Anglian Cup. For Whitecaps, thanks to Quinn and Hilton, won 2-1 at St John's Youth and will take on Fairfax Rangers.
Rangers beat Canvey's Methane Boys 5-2. Gibbs was sparkling for Basildon's Beech United in their Under-13 East Anglian Cup quarter-final win at Wymondsley Park. His hat-trick played a major part in a 4-2 success.
