Burnham took control from the outset. The first try came for Burnham after backs Neil Murray, Lawrence and Bennett linked well - the end result of Bennett running an early try in.
This was then repeated after the restart with Finn finding space to run another try in from his wing. Both tries were converted by Longley.
With everything looking good for Burnham, disaster struck when Tony Bennett went down with a suspected broken ankle following a tackle and had to be airlifted from the field of play.
Fortunately, it was later found that a badly twisted ankle was the result, possibly making the rest of his season doubtful.
However, the damage had been done and after the restart Ongar got back into the game.
The rest of the game then rested on a knife edge with non-stop action, with first Ongar getting one penalty kick and then Burnham kicking a penalty to, in effect, cancel Ongar's efforts out.
In an unfortunate incident a Burnham player was instructed to leave the field.
The battle continued with both sides struggling for supremacy in this evenly-matched game.
