Braintree & Bocking Swimming Club members attended the Canvey Island spring meet on Sunday with the best results being achieved by Lee Sibley in the 14 year age group.

Lee raced to first place in the 50m free, breast and the 100m individual medley. He also came second in the 50m fly and sixth in the 50m back and all but one of his swims were new personal best times.

Joella Bennett swam to two good second places in the 50m free and the 50m breast in the 12 year age group.

Farrah Berry, swimming in her first major competition, in the 10 year age group had excellent swims leading to second place in 50m back, third in 50m free, fourth in 100 IM and fifth in 50m fly.

Braintree's remaining second place went to 12 year old Tina Yearley in 50m fly, Tina also raced to sixth in 100M IM.

Fourth places went to 15 year old Robert Beard in the 50m back and fly, Natalie Werall in the 11 year 50m fly, Emily Stokes in the 50m breast, and Kate Watkins in the 50m fly.

The mixed nine year backstroke relay team of Lauren Costin, Julian Nehammer, Alex Wilson and James Birch came second as did the mixed nine years free relay team of James Birch, Jennifer Taylor, A. Matthews and Alex Wilson.

The nine year mixed breast relay came third (Al King, Jennifer Taylor, Edward Savage, Nikki Yearley), as did the mixed 9 year medley team of Lauren Costin, Edward Savage, James Birch and Jennifer Taylor.
