A group of youths have attacked and robbed a youngster in Clacton town centre in broad daylight.
The boy was punched in the face, hit over the head with a bicycle seat and threatened with a metal pole.
Police were today investigating the assault and appealed for anyone with information to contact them.
Insp Pat Byford of Clacton police said the young victim suffered injuries to his face in the assault which happened around 12.20pm yesterday in Wellesley Road.
The boy's bike - which was damaged by his attackers - was also taken from him during the robbery.
Insp Byford continued: "It was a very nasty incident in the middle of the day when this lad was set upon by a group of youths.
"We are keen to hear from anyone who witnessed this attack, and any information we receive will be treated in confidence."
