James Scowcroft looks set to start for Ipswich against Huddersfield as they hunt for goals in their bid for Premiership promotion.
Scowcroft has had two run-outs as a sub since coming back from a broken collar bone.
Before the injury last December, the former England under-21 international had scored 11 goals and was joint-top scorer at the time with David Johnson.
The pair will link up again, which leaves Richard Naylor back on the bench.
Burley said: "James has looked fine in the two games and had no problem with his shoulder. He is good at holding the ball up and bringing players into the game. With David Johnson looking very sharp they will make a formidable force."
Johnson said: "I've missed James, we have built up a good understanding."
The Blues will be looking to bounce back after losing 3-2 at Crystal Palace to halt their run of seven games without defeat.
Fabian Wilnis' mistakes in that game could mean him sitting this one out with Mick Stockwell moving to right back.
Adam Tanner has a knee problem but can play, although he may need a cartilage operation in the summer.
Jason Cundy is fit but cancelled reserve games have hampered his comeback.
Manuel Thetis trained this week after recovering from a shin injury though his Achilles is still troubling him.
Matt Holland had fought through his injury woes but still wakes up on Monday mornings in pain.
As Ipswich start their ten-match run-in, Burley is predicting a tight finish.
He said: "It is still very close. Obviously we want to go up in second place but the way things are not even a play-off place is for certain. Birmingham, Bolton and Bradford are all pushing for second and there quite a few clubs still eyeing a top-six finish.
Huddersfield are one of those and they will be fighting for the points."
Ipswich are close to finalising a deal with Sheffield Wednesday for midfielder Jim Magilton.
Town boss George Burley said: "I want Jim to stay, he wants to stay, so it is down to the clubs.
"He is as good a passer as anyone in the first division and suits our style down to a T."
Chris Keeble has had an ankle operation and will miss the rest of the season. Justin Fox has been released.
