Bernard the Bulldog will be hoping for the best of British when he puts his paws on the world famous Crufts showground.
Three-year-old Bernard will be competing on Sunday, his first appearance at the show, after missing out on the chance last year.
His owner, Debbie Symonds, of Edith Road, Prittlewell, said: "He actually qualified for the show last year, but I was a novice then and we didn't realise he was eligible to compete until it was too late, so I'm relieved he made it again this year."
