The Town returned to form against lowly Watton, who are struggling against relegation, at the Wallace Binder Binder Stadium on Saturday with a convincing victory.
Maldon took the lead in the 20th minute when Gold fired home after good work by Card.
Card himself added the second in the 37th minute as the home side took control of the game.
Early in the second half the visitors came back into the game but Maldon killed the game off in the 55th minute when Noble broke the Watton back line to go clear and score.
It was Card who added the fourth shortly afterwards with a fine headed goals and late in the game he was denied his hat-trick thanks to a brilliant save by the Watton keeper.
Although Watton picked up a consolation goal in the 85th minute through a deflected shot but right on time Watton defence to score a fifth for the home side.
This win gives Maldon a timely boost to their league position in their first campaign in the top flight that has proved difficult.
But they are now well clear of the relegation area and will now look to stabilise into a mid table position before the end of the season.
Of their 30 league games Maldon have now won 10, drawn five and lost 15 having scored 48 and conceded 54 goals.
