A new driving test centre has opened in Chelmsford to help thousands of learner drivers hit the road.
Driving Standards Agency chief executive Bernard Herdan and Chelmsford West MP Simon Burns were special guests at the official opening at Chelmsford Business Park on Friday.
The new building provides improved facilities for customers and staff including disabled access, toilets, shower facilities for staff and an on-site customer car park.
Friday's opening included a chance for the public to visit the centre and talk to examiners about the practical driving test.
The event was a celebration for the residents of Beeches Road, Chelmsford, where the former centre was located. Residents spent years campaigning against the centre as they were plagued with traffic congestion.
