Police believe burglars who stole £5,000-worth of porcelain from a Rayleigh home knew exactly what they were looking for.
An Essex Police spokesman said the valuable porcelain was stolen from a home in Highfield Crescent between 12pm and 9pm on Saturday, while the owner was out.
The selective thieves took just nine pieces of Lladro porcelain including two women figurines, and animal ornaments including seagulls, swans, polar bears and elephants.
Police believe the thieves have an outlet for selling the items, and appealed to the public to watch out for them at car boot sales and similar fairs.
Anyone offered the porcelain for sale, or who has information about the burglary, should contact police at Rayleigh on 01268 775533 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555111
