Steve Forbes has joined Peterborough United on loan until the end of the season.
The Colchester United midfielder links up with Barry Fry's Division Three outfit in a bid to get regular first team action.
U's assistant manager Steve Whitton yesterday said: "We couldn't guarantee Steve a place and he has struggled with injuries for a while. Peterbrough showed an interest and Steve has gone there until the end of the season."
Forbes, 23, joined the U's from Millwall on a free transfer two years ago and made 36 league starts for the U's.
Former Bulgarian international and Ipswich player Bontcho Guentchev was due to play in the U's reserves game against Gillingham at Layer Road yesterday
And triallist Steve Forewell was due to line up with Lomano Tresor Lua Lua in the U's attack. Forewell scored for Ryman League club Cheshunt last night where in ten games he has netted five goals since joining from Hemel Hempstead.
Stephane Pounewatchy was expected to get a run out, as was Bradley Allen who was off ill the previous day.
