Police have named an 18-year-old pedestrian who died following a road accident in Colchester in the early hours of New Year's Day.
James Piggot, of Drumfield, Stratford St Mary, died in Colchester General Hospital on Saturday.
He had been involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Cavalier in Lexden Road, Colchester, at about 1.30am on January 1. The driver of the car was unhurt in the incident.
Police at Stanway Traffic Unit are appealing for any witnesses to the accident to contact them. Anyone able to help should call 01206 762512
