Southend United's new owners are ready to pump cash into the club's squad in a bid to lift the Blues.
Martin Dawn spelled out its plans after announcing their takeover at Roots Hall was due to be rubber-stamped today.
In a statement released this morning, the Billericay-based property developer said it had recently committed funds to strengthen the squad and would do so again if necessary.
The statement said:"Martin Dawn is committed to a successful football club on and off the field, both of which can be enhanced by the future possibility of a new stadium and improved facilities for all.
"We are very excited by the prospects and greatly encouraged by the positive and helpful reaction from the council."
Under the deal, Martin Dawn has purchased the remaining shares in Southend United to take its holding to 55 per cent of the club's issued share capital.
Vic Jobson will resign as a director and chairman of Southend United and John Main, from Martin Dawn, will step into his shoes.
Martin Dawn chairman and chief executive Ron Martin said: "I very much hope that following this further investment in the club, the supporters and all concerned will now accept the genuine interest we have in the future of Southend United Football Club."
The company originally became involved in Blues in May when it was agreed Martin Dawn would only provide working capital for the club.
The statement says the figure has increased above that of the original agreement which has resulted in Martin Dawn taking full control.
"Southend Football Club needs new energy and direction. With careful financial planning and professional management there is no doubt in our minds that the club is geared for greater things.
Together with the passion of the supporters we look forward to the future with confidence," the statement added.
