THURROCK recovered impressively from their drubbing at Cambridge City with a 4-1 win over Basingstoke Town last Saturday and then thrashed East Thurrock 7-0 in the Essex Senior Cup on Tuesday.

Fleet will be looking to continue on an upward curve when they travel to Bognor Regis Town on Saturday.

Bognor sit one place above Fleet in what is fast-becoming an incredibly tight Conference South table with just 10 points separating the top 14 sides.

"It was a great performance," purred McBride after Tuesday's win and he now faces the dilemma of deciding on his best side for the trip to the seaside. On Monday he made five changes from the side that had beaten Basingstoke Town 4-1 on Saturday.

In came Billy McMahon for Glenn Knight, Craig Davidson for David Collis, Ronnie Fletcher for Jimmy McFarlane, Lee Hodges for Mark Goodfellow and Scott Wallis for Steve Harper. Harper, Goodfellow and Collis were all on the bench and did in fact play a part in the game.

Wallis was stretchered off on Monday after a collision with Rocks' Danny Dafter but all the rest are likely to be in contention as Fleet bid to make up the three point gap to the play-off places.
