Colchester United had a home ground hoodoo at the start of the season.
However, following their third win on the trot at the stadium with a 3-2 victory over Blackpool on Saturday, he believes the Colchester turf is now a happy hunting ground for the side.
Halford, who struck a blockbuster of a third goal for the U's against Blackpool, said: "The home form in the past had let us down.
"It was nice to think that we have won our last four games, but what is really important to me is that three of those wins have been at home.
"Winning on Saturday was not only vital for the sake of getting the points, but because we wanted to establish our form on our own ground. It was very disappointing when we were losing games at home, but we've managed to turn that round and keep doing what we are doing now, which is winning at Layer Road.
"We've got two more home games now before we next get on our travels. We have to make the most of them and we will be going for wins and nothing less."
