CANVEY'S hopes of moving into the top half of the standings were scuppered as they produced a dreadful first half defensive display against a Tamworth side propping up the table at the start of play.
Pre-match problems meant that Gulls went into action with a central defensive partnership of Nathan Bunce and Dave McGhee and it never looked like working.
