A powerboat fanatic who returned from holiday to find his prized boat stolen has offered a £5,000 reward to trace the culprits.
Stephen Ryan, 43, of Pole Barn Lane, Frinton, said he was "absolutely devastated" by the theft.
The 23ft-long, rigid-hulled inflatable - worth £25,000 - was kept locked to a wheelclamped trolley in his drive.
"The police think they may have tried to drag it out to break the locks and when they found they couldn't they came back and cut them,"said Mr Ryan.
"It appears it may have been taken to order - it's so distinctive and I can't see anyone around here buying it."
Two 130hp Mercury engines on the boat, together with valuable electrical equipment, were also stolen.
The Snipe trolley was worth £3,500, said Mr Ryan.
The raiders had also tried to break into the house but without success.
