Chris Iwelumo is delighted that Jamie Cureton has extended his loan at Colchester United until the end of the year.
Cureton had originially only penned a deal to stay at Layer Road from Swindon Town until this coming Saturday.
However, it has been extended and goal-getter Iwelumo is now looking forward to playing more games with the former Reading man.
"I'm delighted that Jamie has decided to stay on longer," said Iwelumo, who netted his ninth and tenth goals of the season in the U's 3-2 win over Blackpool on Saturday.
"I think he has brought a bit of a spark to the squad and the figures show that I have got six goals in the last four games that he has been here.
"He's also a great lad off the pitch, too."
Iwelumo will be hoping to keep up his impressive scoring run when the U's take on Northampton Town tomorrow night in the LDV Vans Trophy second round at Layer Road.
