WEST Ham boss Alan Pardew picked out a single challenge on Edgar Davids as the moment young midfielder Mark Noble announced himself to the Premiership.
Noble, 18, made his first top-flight start in the weekend's 1-1 draw at Spurs and found himself face to face with the flamboyantly goggled Dutch master.
But he was by no means overawed by the task facing him and proved his readiness for battle with a crunching tackle on the former Juventus man.
"That was a nice little moment and I think Mark really rattled him," said Pardew.
"It was a good way to introduce himself and let people know that he can play a bit too."
