Jason De Vos was today bracing himself for some 'sleepless nights' after Ipswich Town's 3-0 thumping by Reading.

The Blues were comprehensively outplayed in last night's Coca-Cola Championship clash at Portman Road.

And, reflecting on the debris, the Canadian told the Gazette: "I'll be having some sleepless nights after that performance.

"Everyone went home bitterly disappointed and we've all got a lot of soul-searching to do. All I can say to the fans is that we'll be doing everything in our power to put things right.

"Reading, to be fair, were very strong. They're top of the table on merit, but we could have got something from the game had we played to our potential.

"We'll be doing everything possible to repair the damage and there certainly won't be any lack of effort from the players."

Blues boss Joe Royle was philosophical in defeat, held his hands up and admitted his side were outclassed in every department.

"I'm far from happy about the situation but I'm not going to beat myself up over it," he said.
