The Colchester United forward has had a stop-start opening to the season with a catalogue of injury problems plaguing him.
However, in his first start on Wednesday night he managed the full 120 minutes of the U's 3-2 extra-time win over Northampton Town in the LDV Vans Trophy second round and also bagged a goal as well.
He said: "I'm feeling really good after that game.
"Playing the full 90 minutes of a match would have been great, but to do the 120 of what was an end-to-end competitive game has really given me plenty of confidence and I know I'm up to speed for tomorrow."
The U's take on Gillingham at Layer Road and, after completing their first winning double of the season by beating Blackpool last week, they will be looking to avoid their first double defeat with the Gills already upsetting them on the opening day of the season.
