PLANS for a four-storey block of apartments in Billericay High Street have been rejected by councillors because it was "too big" and would have overshadowed neighbouring properties.
The development, made up of nine flats, was planned for the back of the grade-II listed Sheredays Centre - a collection of small shops.
But the application, submitted by Chelmsford-based firm Jaymar Construction Ltd, was rejected by Basildon Council's development control and traffic management committee.
