Arlesey 1, Aveley 0 MILLERS' hopes of lifting themselves further away from the Southern League Division One East relegation places floundered in Bedfordshire on Saturday.
Arlesey have struggled themselves for much of the season, but in a tight match they edged the vital three points thanks to Dean Harding's 38th minute goal which came when he rounded keeper Marc Palmer and netted from a narrow angle.
Palmer was called upon to make a couple of good saves in the second half to keep Millers in the match but they lacked a cutting edge at the other end and went down.
Though bottom club Berkhamsted won, Millers still remain third from bottom, though the club betwen them, Potter Bar, have two games in hand.
