More than 600 people flocked to St Stephen's Church centre, Canterbury Road, New Town, Colchester, for the event, which features treats such as entertainment from local scoolchildren, a jazz band, stalls and refreshments.
Glenn Bath, a member of St Stephen's Church and resident in New Town, organised the fair.
He said: "It was absolutely fantastic, a total success. The amount of people that turned out was far more than I expected.
"It goes to show how much people value their community and want to be a part of it."
He said many community groups took part but paid special tribute to fellow church members and the three schools in the area St George's Primary, St George's Junior and Kendall School, for their participation.
