SOUTHEND international athlete Adam Hickey was today officially named in the Great Britain junior men's team to compete in the European Cross-Country Championships in Tilburg, Holland on Sunday week.
Hickey, the Southend High School for Boys student, made certain of his place in the six man team when finishing fourth in Saturday's European trial which took place at the second UK Cross Challenge at Sefton Park, Liverpool.
But he was third qualifier as race winner, Somalia's Moumin Geele, does not currently hold a British passport and was ruled ineligible.
