Some 280 youngsters from schools in Maldon, Heybridge, Tollesbury, Tolleshunt D'Arcy and Woodham Walter performed in front of packed audiences on Saturday - despite not rehearsing together before.
Mike Applewhite, deputy headteacher at the Plume School, where the show was held, said as part of the Singaloud project teachers from the Fambridge Road school had been visiting the primary schools for the last two months.
The children, who were in years three, four and five, learnt the ten songs which are featured in Button Box - but had never rehearsed as a 280-strong group.
"They performed en mass for the first time on the day and they were absolutely fabulous," Mr Applewhite said.
"The children sang really well and projected themselves superbly. The band was great too. "We had two performances on Saturday and both were sold out - it was a very good day."
