NEIGHBOURS of a site where a "skyscraper" block of flats could be built will voice their fears of overcrowding at a public inquiry today.

People living near the junction of London Road and Elm Road in Leigh, where developers want to build dozens of homes, say that the streets will become too crowded for comfort.

Southend Council has rejected two applications for the second-hand car showroom site, but the applicant appealed so a Government inspector will now have the final say.
