BOTH Canvey Island and Great Wakering Rovers said farewell to this season's hopes of Essex Senior Cup glory when they crashed out of the fourth round on their visits to Ryman Premier opposition last night.
Gulls visited Braintree Town with a side that, although containing a number of senior players, saw just one, Mario Noto, who started Saturday's Conference game with Cambridge United, in the line-up.
Alex Revell gave the the home side the lead and the second from Bradley Quinton 15 minutes from time gave Braintree a 2-0 win and put the hosts into the quarter finals.
Wakering, meanwhile, suffered a 4-0 defeat at Heybridge Swifts.
