BILLERICAY Town boss Justin Edinburgh believes Nathan Elder is good enough to succeed at league level after impressing for Northampton Town reserves this week.
The Cobblers have been tracking the young striker since the start of the season and will soon invite Elder back for another appearance in their second-string after helping the Sixfields Stadium side secure a 4-2 win.
"I know Colin Calderwood well at Northampton and they came to watch us during pre-season when we played Barnet because they were playing them quite early on," said Edinburgh.
"Nathan caught their eye in that game and they have been monitoring his progress ever since. Because of that they asked him in for a trial and after a day's training he played against Barnet in their reserves and certainly did himself no harm at all.
"I saw the game myself and he played well. They liked what they saw and have invited him back. I think he is good enough to make the step up as well."
