Colchester United beware - Witham's Ben Smith is on the warpath again.
A key member of the giant-killing Yeovil Town side that sent the U's hurtling out of the FA Cup on the wrong end of a humiliating 5-1 scoreline at Huish Park four years ago, Smith is eager to pull off another upset on Saturday.
The 27-year-old former Valley Green youth midfielder is currently strutting his stuff with cup-fighting Coca-Cola League Two outfit Shrewsbury Town - the U's second-round opponents at Gay Meadow.
And having won the first-minute spot-kick that helped to send Braintree Town packing 4-1 in the last round, the former Bramston schoolboy is aiming to make the U's pay a similar penalty.
"I don't know whether I'll be playing yet," the ex-Arsenal, Reading, Southend and Hereford man told the Gazette.
"But with my mum and dad and many of my friends living in Witham, meeting Braintree and Colchester in the first two rounds is very sweet for me.
"It would be great to take a big scalp like Colchester again and hopefully draw one of the glamour Premiership clubs in the third round."
