The MG was in collision with another car in St Paul's Road, Clacton, close to Church Road, at about 1pm yesterday.
Emergency medical technician Sam Harridge said: "We were told there was a collision between two cars that resulted in one of the cars being spun around several times, mounting the kerb and going up on to a brick wall where it came to rest.
"The driver managed to get out of the car on his own and when we arrived we found he had suffered only whiplash-related injuries."
Crews decided to fit him to a neck collar before taking him to Colchester General Hospital for a check-up.
