POLICE have been accused of failing to act after travellers held a pony and trap race on the A127.
The race, which took place at around 7.15am yesterday, saw passengers hang out of windows as the traps careered down the A127 between the B186 - North Ockendon - and A128 junctions.
Cars and vans following the race drove four-abreast, with some cars even driving along the cycle lane.
A Met police car was seen following the procession, but pulled off the A127 at the Childerditch Lane exit without taking any action against the racers or other motorists.
Essex Police confirmed no arrests had been made.
