SOUTH Essex could be set for new roads, schools, healthcare and leisure facilities if a £100million road from the A127 to Shoebury is built, the company behind the plan said today.

Seaside wants to build a new bypass through parts of Rochford linking Southend Airport to proposed housing developments in Shoebury on Ministry of Defence land.

The three shareholders behind the company, who have not been named, are looking to spend £7 to £8 million of their own money on promoting their plans in the planning stage alone.

Once the proposals have been approved, the shareholders, who have a proven track record in business in the area, hope to attract funding from a range of sources.
