Blood on the streets is threatening to stain Walton's reputation, it has been claimed.
Weeks after a stabbing incident, there are still blood stains visible on at the entrances of two properties.
Walton councillor Jan King has called for a clean-up plus increased surveillance by the police of late-night drinkers as they pour out of the town's pubs.
Mrs King told Frinton and Walton Town Council, following the incident in which a man was stabbed and a teenager injured, there had been a trail of blood from opposite the Bath House pub on Princes Esplanade to the Central Kiosk.
The Frinton and Walton town councillor said: "The next day I saw blood in two doorways - and it is still there."
It was agreed the council's own crime and disorder working party should be asked to look into the whole issue.
