ESSEX Marina is to be turned into the biggest boat superstore in the country after new owners moved in.
The marina, based on Wallasea Island, on the River Crouch, has been bought by Essex Boatyards, based in Paglesham, for an undisclosed sum.
Until recently it was owned by Southend entrepreneur Robin Levy, who also owns Bakers Bar nightclub and O'Donoghues pub.
The 12-acre site has 500 deep-water pontoon berths, including 50 swinging moorings and a slipway capable of hoisting boats of up to 100 tonnes.
