PRESSURE today mounted on John Prescott to pull the plug on plans to move hundreds of illegally camped travellers from Crays Hill to Pitsea.
Hundreds of residents are expected to join a campaign pleading with the Deputy Prime Minister to reconsider creating a site at Terminus Drive for 86 families facing eviction from Dale Farm.
Tory Billericay MP John Baron, whose constituency includes the proposed site between the A13 and c2c railway line, will launch the campaign at a public meeting on Friday.
Residents will be urged to add their names to a petition which will be presented to Mr Prescott at his next talks with Mr Baron over the issue before Christmas.
