Ian Westlake came through Ipswich Town's second-string triumph over rivals Norwich City Reserves with no ill-effects.
The Blues midfielder, who missed Saturday's 1-1 draw against Wolverhampton Wanderers in the Coca-Cola Championship with a recurring ankle problem, completed the first 45 minutes of Town's 3-0 success last night.
The left-sided player even got on the scoresheet with the two other goals added by Danny Haynes and Jaime Peters.
Town even had the luxury of missing a penalty when Liam Craig saw his first-half spot-kick saved.
Owen Garvan replaced Westlake in his bid to return to full fitness following a lengthy spell on the sidelines with ankle ligament trouble.
The sight of Westlake and Garvan gracing the Portman Road turf again - in front of just over 1,000 Blues fans last night - will come as a great relief to boss Joe Royle who has been hampered by injuries this campaign.
