THOUSANDS are expected to turn out in Corringham town centre tomorrow when festive lights will be switched on.

Mince pies, live music, Santa and roast chestnuts are amoung the attractions at the festivities which take place between 5pm and 9pm.

Surrounding roads will close from 4pm and at 5.15pm a singer turns on the seasonal street lights.

This year, for the first time, some of the 50-plus stalls will be covered and most of the shops in St Johns Way and Grover Walk will be open.
