The road to recovery will be a long one for Sam Parkin.
But the Ipswich striker is already glad to have undergone a successful operation to his broken ankle which is set to keep him sidelined for three to four months.
While Town's top goalscorer - with five this season - is glad matters are progressing nicely, Parkin is devastated to miss any Ipswich game - especially Saturday's Coca-Cola Championship contest against Queens Park Rangers.
The former Swindon Town striker said: "I'm already missing not playing and will be at Portman Road on Saturday to watch the lads play QPR which would have been a special game for me because they are the club I followed as a boy.
"But the ankle is healing well and things are progressing.
"I had X-rays taken and there are no problems with the way the operation went. I've had a new plaster cast fitted around the ankle and that will stay on for two weeks."
