A terrified shopkeeper was held at gunpoint and forced to hand over cash from the safe by masked raiders.
A robber, armed with what looked like a shotgun, raided the Co-op in Acacia Court, Brantham, at 8.25pm on Monday. His accomplice was brandishing a screwdriver.
The hooded men forced the store supervisor to open the till and snatched the cash. The raiders then ordered him to unlock the store's safe and hand over more money.
The robbers then fled towards the A137 in a waiting getaway car driven by a third man. Suffolk Police said no-one was injured in the incident and no shots were fired.
The Co-op refused to say how much money was taken in the robbery but a spokesman said: "This is a very worrying incident. Thankfully, all of our staff are okay and we would like to thank them for the way they dealt with such a difficult situation."
