FEARS a community hall would be sacrificed to make way for a new health centre have been allayed after the exact location of one of the two planned centres on Canvey was revealed to the public yesterday.
The multi-million pound NHS primary care centre will not mean the demise of the Paddocks or neighbouring community hall Canvey Island Senior Citizens Association (Cisca) House, which is in the grounds of the Paddocks.
Residents were told at a public meeting in the Paddocks yesterday that the centre will be built on a section of land within the Paddocks grounds in Long Road, between the playground and Cisca House.
The location has already been given outline planning permission by Castle Point Council.
