A SWIMMING pool will remain closed for at least a month while up to £70,000 of repairs and improvements are carried out.
Gloucester Park pool in Basildon closed to swimmers on Monday.
It will remain shut while engineers carry out repairs to its main filtration system which could cost as much as £60,000.
The reception area and changing rooms will also be renovated, rewired and repainted while the work on the filter is completed, adding a further £10,000 to the bill.
The Gloucester Park pool should re-open on Wednesday, January 4.
