How refreshing to see that a judge has adopted a common sense approach to the plight of Wivenhoe Town Football Club.
The Wivenhoe and District Sporting Trust is clutching at straws in order to cover up its stance over the past year.
It is my understanding, from reading the past few week’s press coverage, the trust was set up by Colchester Council after using community/council funds to buy the ground.
The current officers, as I understand it, are an unelected body.
Surely this is not in the best interests of the community?
I therefore put it that every Wivenhoe household has a right to be a member of this so-called community trust.
They should then hold a transparent and democratic election of officers.
Mr Nightingale states the trust has a good track record.
Did Wivenhoe Tennis Club help to get the grant or did the trust do this all on its own?
The trust has also spent £4,000 or £5,000 on the car park?
Well, which is it? One thousand pounds is a great deal of money?
