I read with amazement the attempt of the Lib Dem newcomer Colin Mudie to the scene in Berechurch (Letters, March 31) to somehow claim superiority on the issue of retaining secondary education in my ward.
Can’t you tell it’s the election season with them coming out of the woodwork, but remaining silent all the rest of the year?
This Lib Dem obviously forgets the U-turn made by the Lib Dems. Remember the Gazette headline “Uturn by Lib Dems in School Land Row”?
Berechurch Labour councillors voted to support our local school while the local Lib Dems remained silent.
The Lib Dem candidate was not there when many parents, staff, pupils, governors and I took to the streets collecting signatures for retaining education on the Thomas Lord Audley site and gathering responses to the county council’s consultation I deplore the attempt by him to misinform my constituents on this vital issue.
Wherever and whenever I support my local Thomas Lord Audley School, I always put my community first.
That is because the people I represent want me to push for the long-term future of our children and grandchildren and not get involved in the distorted party political views of this Lib Dem oppurtunist.
