Essex skipper Mark Pettini has vowed to keep the club playing its “aggressive” brand of cricket, as they begin life back in the top flight.
The new season begins tomorrow for Pettini and his side, as Essex host Hampshire at The Ford County Ground in LV= County Championship division one.
And, having won promotion in a dramatic climax to the last campaign, Pettini feels a finish in the top half of the table and silverware in a one-day competition is a realistic target this summer.
