A HALF a million pound Government grant is allowing a Colchester charity to begin work on a much-needed makeover for its day centre.
St Helena Hospice staff are over the moon after hearing their bid for a share of £40million, from the Department of Health’s end of life care strategy, had been successful.
It will help fund a much needed makeover of its Joan Tomkins day centre which was officially opened by Princess Diana in 1988.
