BE prepared to be scared...zombies are coming to Colchester!
Scenes reminiscent of the film, the Night of the Living Dead, are set to be created for a “zombie walk”.
Photographer Toni Cutt, of Hall Lane, Walton, is planning the gory Colchester Zombie Group Shoot.
More than 50 people have already signed up for the event, which has a strict “blood, blood and more blood” dress code, on social networking website, Facebook.
It is the latest in a trend of zombie walks, which have swept America in the past decade and have now reached British shores.
Miss Cutt hopes scores of people, dressed in dirty clothes and covered in fake blood, will take part in the walk, at a derelict area of Hythe docks, from 11am until noon, on Sunday.
She specialises in gore, horror and re-enactment photography and staged a similar event in Walton last year.
But Miss Cutt promises there will be no “flash-mobbing”, where groups of zombies creep up on passers-by and frighten them.
She said: “It is just a bit of fun. It is for people who have an interest in zombies, or anything like that.
“We have got some professional models taking part, but we want everyone to come along and get involved.
“It will be interesting to see the reaction from people, but as long as we are responsible and don’t go over the top, it should be fine.”
