AN Army wife is donning rucksack and boots to “get an idea of what the guys do”.
Tracey Clark, from Colchester, is doing the Para 10, which challenges people to run ten miles cross-country in walking boots while carrying a 35lbs rucksack.
The 35-year-old hopes to raise £1,000 for Help for Heroes from doing the event, based on one of the tests budding paratroopers must complete.
Tracey said: “It’s quite a challenge, but I want to get an idea of what the guys do.
“I ran the same course last year in just over two hours, but it’s going to be that much harder with a rucksack and boots on.”
Husband, Brian, a corporal in the town’s 7th (Air Assault) Battalion, Royal Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, has been putting her through her paces.
