A PICK-UP truck was stranded in the sea off Frinton beach on Saturday after the coastguard failed to rescue it from the rising tide.
The truck was being used by a local man to drag his boat out of the water.
However, both vehicles became stuck in the sea and the coastguard were called for assistance at around 12:30pm.
Attempts to pull the truck out of the sea using a Land Rover and the coastguards own vehicles failed.
After trying for an hour, rescuers had to admit defeat and leave the pick-up truck attached to the floating boat.
Marker buoys were put out around the area to ensure other boats avoid the truck.
