A WOMAN has died and two men have been seriously injured in a crash on the A12.
The trio were all travelling northbound when the car they were in left the road and struck a bridge at Gun Hill, Dedham, earlier today.
The woman, who was in her 30s but has not yet been identified, was declared dead at the scene.
Both men, one in his 30s the other in his 40s, were airlifted to different hospitals with very serious injuries.
All three lived in the Ipswich area.
Adrienne Watts, a spokesman for the East of England Ambulance Service, said: “There were three casualties. One has been declared dead at the scene and two others have suffered multiple traumas and are in a serious condition."
Police closed both sides of the road between junction 29 at Ardleigh and junction 30 at Dedham and set up diversions while they cleared the road and carried out an investigation.
