MORE students are set to take to the streets of Colchester for yet another day of action to oppose government education cuts.
Tens of thousands of students across the country are expected to take part in a third day of action next Tuesday to voice their anger over tuition fee rises and the abolition of maintenance grants for 16 to 18-year-olds.
Following the 600-strong demonstration in Colchester on Wednesday, college students are expected to join students from Essex University for another day of action focused on the town centre.
Wednesday’s protest, which resulted in one student and one member of the public being arrested, saw police closing roads as students marched through the town and conducted a sit down protest in the High Street and North Hill.
On Tuesday it is thought there will be a similar set up with student organisers calling on trade union workers, pensioner groups and community action groups to join them.
